Our review
Do we really need 8 hours of sleep a day? What is the impact of disturbed sleep? What does ‘beauty sleep’ mean? We may not spend a lot of our time thinking about sleep and getting a good night’s rest especially in today’s always-connected world. However, it turns out that sleep deprivation or a lack of sleep has an enormous impact on our bodies and minds. The negative effects range from cognitive impairment to increased risk of cancer. This video, narrated by a renowned sleep scientist, Dr. Matthew Walker (albeit who has faced some criticism) makes the connection between sleep and physical health very clear.
Pros:
+ Clear, well-paced narration
+ Host is a specialist in the field
+ Subtitles
+ Simple animations to support the points put forward
Cons:
– It doesn’t leave a lot of room for differences in humans by age, gender, race etc.
